In an age dominated by technological advancements, fostering collaboration between industry leaders and educational institutions is crucial to nurturing the next generation of tech talent. A significant step in this direction was taken on June 19, 2025, when Verysell AI and SmartDev from Verysell Group with FUNiX – an online IT education platform founded by FPT 2015, formalized a transformative partnership.
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the three entities marks the beginning of a collaboration aimed at empowering Vietnam’s youth, accelerating AI adoption, and enhancing software development practices across the region. This partnership is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical industry experience while preparing students for the rapidly evolving job market.
A Bold Move for the Future of AI and Software Development
The MOU, signed at SmartDev’s Hanoi office, sets the stage for collaboration that will have far-reaching effects on both the tech industry and education. With that, both Verysell AI and SmartDev are focused on creating opportunities for students to gain valuable industry experience and insights into cutting-edge technologies.

Verysell AI, the AI arm of Verysell Group, is pushing boundaries in the development of AI-powered solutions. Top industries covered are BFSI, manufacturing, supply chain, and healthcare, especially agentic AI for customer support (chatbots). Meanwhile, SmartDev, known for its Swiss-quality software development, has been a cornerstone of Vietnam’s tech ecosystem. Acquired by Verysell Group in 2019, it now operates development centers in Da Nang and Hanoi with around 450 engineers.
From our representatives, we proudly had six members: Mr Alistair Copeland – Chief Operation Officer from Verysell Group, Ms Nguyen Thi Luan – General Director from SmartDev, Mr Nguyen Quoc Trung – Chief Operation Officer from Verysell AI, Mrs Nguyen Ngoc Ha – Marketing Director from Verysell Group & SmartDev, Mrs Hoang Thi Thu Trang – HR Manager from SmartDev, and Mr Le Si Hoang – Division Manager from SmartDev.

FUNiX’s Vision for Accessible Education and Mentorship
Founded by Nguyen Thanh Nam, FUNiX emphasizes accessibility in education through its online programs, enabling students across Vietnam to access quality learning without traditional barriers. Its unique mentorship approach is rooted in the Vietnamese cultural value of guidance and care.

With over 200 partnerships with leading companies, FUNiX provides students with real-world exposure and insights into technological trends. The recent MOU will enhance its curriculum by integrating AI and software development topics, fostering a skilled workforce in these critical areas.
From FUNIX’s representatives, they are Mr Nguyen Thanh Nam – Founder, Mr. Quach Ngoc Xuan – Director of FUNiX Ways Center, Ms. Vu Yen Minh – Head of B2B Sector, and Ms. Pham Huyen Trang – Corporate Partnership Manager.

10:00–10:05: The event began with Mrs. Ha introducing the participants from SmartDev & Verysell AI, setting the stage for a productive session.
10:05–10:10: Ms. Trang took to the floor to introduce the participants from FUNiX, providing a brief overview of the team.
10:10–10:20: Alistair Copeland from SmartDev & Verysell AI shared the Group’s vision, focusing on its commitment to nurturing the younger generation of tech talent.
10:20–10:30: Mr Nguyen Thanh Nam, FUNiX’s founder, outlined the organization’s approach to providing accessible education and mentorship.
10:30–10:40: The first official signing took place, with Mr Alistair Copeland and Mr Nguyen Thanh Nam formalizing the partnership on behalf of Verysell AI and FUNiX.

10:40–10:50: Ms. Nguyễn Thị Luận and Mr. Nguyễn Thành Nam followed by signing the cooperation agreement for SmartDev and FUNiX.

10:50–11:00: The event concluded with a group photo and a tour of the SmartDev office, celebrating the new collaboration.

Strengthening the AI Talent Pipeline
One of the most exciting aspects of this collaboration is the opportuity for students to adapt with real cases within our AI products and solutions. Therefore, this MOU ensures that they are not only developing basic knowledge, but also practical skills in the technology field. This hands-on experience will allow students to gain valuable insights into the application of AI in real-world scenarios, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and industry practices.
